The Roman Army Museum is dedicated to the Roman military presence here in the north, and the soldiers of Hadrian’s Wall Garrison. The exclusive 3D “Edge of Empire” film, pays homage to Rome’s military accomplishments in Britain. Perfect on rainy days, however if the sun is shining we can take a walk up to Walltown Crags to see one of the highest remaining sections of The Wall which stands at 6-8ft in places. One of the best artefacts on display at this museum is the only Roman sword found during excavations on Hadrian’s Wall.
